hmmm- great advice. normally people who are kidnapped are given a cell phone and privacy to make a phone call. they aren't terrified and tied up and held at gunpoint or anything...
I think it meant to say, "If you are kidnapped, ask your assailants if they could please call the police. Remember to ask nicely"
